Has anyone looked at this website in detail? Good? Bad?

Uneven. They have a nasty habit of posting good, useful info from writers like Dave Tate and Dan John right next to stuff that makes the Weider Principles look like Sportivnya Press.
They do a better job of keeping the ads out of the articles these days, which is gratifying. |

Too much emphasis on bigger is better. Too many people there seem equate muscle size with performance and if you are not looking to get bigger you don't know what you are doing. Also lots of steroid related talk tends to occupy too much forum space compared to good useful training info. They also seem to have a real big problem with you inserting any other links into forum posts. They will delete your post.
Just my opinion. |

I think that they are a good site simply based on sheer volume of information available. I can do a search for ANY exercise and get articles on how to do it. They have extensive writings by john davies, dan john, staley, and other excellent strength coaches. Admitted, there is a lot of crap, but the useful info that you can extract more than makes up for that.
Overall, I would recommend checking it out. They have an rss feed you can subscribe to. |

It's like some insects that lay 10 000 eggs at one time. Most will starve or freeze or be eaten by predators -- and most of the articles at t-nation deserve a similar fate. But with updates almost everyday, some of them are very interesting reads

I don't read many of the articles because they aren't relevant to my goals. On the other hand I have found some to be interesting and informative, others really funny.

There's a new Dan John article up on T-Nation right now, "Iron John: Self-Evident Truths". Good stuff as usual.

Not for beginners. It can cause a lot of confusion to those not sure of their training goals.
That being said, it has a lot of useful info as well. |

Mixed results. If you're looking for advice on specific lifts or something else that's easily narrowed down and can sort through the chaff without getting aggravated, it's a great site. However, if you're just looking to browse, be prepared for a lot of over-the-top machismo and poor grammar. Love the Dan John articles, though. A decent rule of thumb is to avoid any topics not directly related to lifting or fitness, and you'll avoid the bulk of the garbage.
