Re: 2013 Open, Regionals and Games Thread

I watched part of the video, it was entertaining to say the least.

FWIW I think 5 minutes of DU's would be comical. I just did three minutes straight the other day for 328. How stupid would it be that someone like myself who can crank em out forever would do so well in that one thing and so crappy at the rest..........it will not be that.

I am pretty sure it will be short. We just did 17 minutes and 10 minutes. It could be 7-8 minutes of WB's. I know this cause I suck pretty bad at them.

Is there a video of the girl who got 420? That should be pretty impressive!

Not yet. The Games site says it was record at a base and the army has to clear the video before HQ can get their hands on it.

Yep Josh Golden's reps are a bit suspect BUT it would be such a big thing for HQ to totally disqualify someone when there are so many dodgey submissions and even dodgier scores without a video submission

I saw that as well - which doesn't make any sense to me. Videos are posted all the time from training and combat missions on youtube; this was presumably from some type of box/gym and it has to be cleared?

Re: 2013 Open, Regionals and Games Thread

This effort is doing the rounds on facebook.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=exbF8Gu6Cb0 (WFS)

The guy doing this has a VALIDATED score of 313. I might be missing something here, but to me this seems to go against what I understand crossfit and the games to be. It makes me wonder how many other BS scores are clogging the leaderboards ahead of me, when in fact they haven't done the work to the standards I and the guys at my gym have done.

Saying they'll get found out at the regionals doesn't cut it for me, these guys won't make regionals, but might place higher than me by cheating or being cheerleaded rather than coached. I see the Josh Golden thing has blown up in this gym's face, I wonder how many other wishy washy affiliates are willing to risk their reps by continuing to validate blatantly no rep WODs. I want HQ to do more. They've taken their $2 400 000 entry fees, they should be making more of a thing about dodgy validations or the idea that the Open is a fair test of your fitness against everyone else becomes redundant.

Rant over.

His score currently states validation pending. Also this guy isn't being validated by an affiliate. He is making his submissions with video.

That sounds fun, I might do it at the weekend.
