Kinked neck

Hey everyone,

I slept on my neck wrong and now I can't turn it to the right without it hurting..would the best way to handle just be one of those icy hot patches and tylenol? Should I alternate between ice and heat?

I am trying to stretch it as much as I can but want to make sure I am doing the right things to make it better quick..it is very discomforting to not beable to look to my right.

Re: Kinked neck

See a physical therapist or chiro ASAP.

A facet got stuck or is out of place. It will resolve if you get someone to pop it back into place.

IN the meantime you can use heat and massage to help it loosen up

I would go see a massage therapist before I went and spent the money on a PT or chiro. Most places offer 25 minute treatments. Worst case scenario it doesn't work and you got a massage!

Re: Kinked neck

But if you are wanting to just do self treatment. Alternate warm towels and ice massage. This contrast treatment is great to use even as PWO.

It can work, but if you're messing with the neck and using an person who doesnt know what theyre doing it can also make it worse so....

take your pick heh

Most of the time these things resolve by themselves in a day or two. BUt if you're having a problem 3-4 days out its time to see someone about it.
