starting CF previous Rhabdo

I was introduced to CF last week by a friend and have been reading everything on the website to familiarize myself before beginning this type of intense training. I was a high school athlete, Marine, and have been wanting to get back into my peak physical condition. One year ago I completely over-exerted myself and fell victim to "rhabdo" as you regulars like to call it. Ever since, I have honestly been frightened to exert myself above doing PU's, SU's, dips off the front of the couch, and so on. I am starting the "beginners routine" a la the CF journal archive and have wondered if this 12 week program would get me in the shape I need to be in before taking on the WOD? I realize that the question is very subjective, but any advice would be great! Thanks....Ben

Sorry....just realized I should have posted in "Starting"

I'd say started with scaled brandx workouts and build your way up.

Re: starting CF previous Rhabdo

you can always scale, or SUB the exercises until you're able to do it as rx'd.

and as Steven said, BrandX scales things nicely to cater to every level of fitness.

Re: starting CF previous Rhabdo

Thanks for the advice. The rhabdo scared the **** out of me (Very painful to say the least). Sometimes it's hard to admit that I can't go as hard as I would like. Thanks again for the replies.
