workout routine

If I wanted to train to compete what type of workout routine would I need? How many wods a day would I do and do I do any isolation lifting? I have been doing crossfit for a little while now and I would really like to get to the competition level. Any information is appreciated.

Re: workout routine

Lift heavy, lift dynamically, and train to eliminate weaknesses.

Keep volume and intensity at a level that will sustain gains and increase work capacity but not cause over training.

Constantly increase volume and intensity as the body adapts to its current stimuli.

I don't know what your current skill level is. I don't know what your current strength level is. I don't know what your current weaknesses are. I don't know the amount of volume you can sustain. I don't know what level of intensity you can maintain. So anything other than the above would be an uninformed guess.

Re: workout routine

I've been working on this, too. If I were to lay it out, my roadmap probably looks like:

1 - Get on the games site to see what the competitive numbers are and average them out.
2 - Compare to mine.
3 - Define when the local competition season seems to be.
4 - I'll be focusing on strength and metcon maintenance until I'm in that average range.
5 - Maintain strength through an olympic focus and improve metcon capacity.
