can't activate lats

I don't feel them at all when I am doing any exercise, it seems like it would be pretty important to have strong lats, and I can't feel them contract at all/contract them at will.

You're going to have to do some isolation work for that.

Sit straight up in from a desk or counter and put your elbow on the desk. Push your elbow down into the desk and use the other hand and put it on your lats to give you a sense of where it is and feeling the contraction...

Do this like 40-50 times for both arms. Few sets. Often as possible.
