Nah, I only lift as supplement, not for the sake of lifting. At 136lbs, 265 is pretty close to 2xBW. I wouldn't mind knocking out 300, though.

Re: 430# DL @ 182.6 Bodyweight!

You can hit 440-450 next week. Seriously. Your WO log isn't long enough to tell, but you're probably close to a peak right now. DL PRs are like the Sith

Pull 365 and 405 without lowering it (just drop it if you have bumpers). Then load 440, 445, or 450, walk up to it (don't waste any time) and pick the damn thing up. You won't miss.

DL PRs are like the Sith. "Always two there are... no more...no less."

DL PR's are like the Sith, huh? ... That's great Gant...

So next week shoot for the 450 club then? I don't have the bumpers so I can't just drop my weights without causing a small tremor, so should I pull close to my 1RM then go for gold at 450? Or should I pull at around 385 or so and then shoot for the PR?

Thanks for the advice,

-David

Re: 430# DL @ 182.6 Bodyweight!

450 is alot of weight! wish i was close. I just beat my 375 PR with a 385 last night. Some horribly fat guy on a smith machine near me ( i'm stuck at a golds currently) looked at me staring at the 385 and said, "yeah right, thats alot of weight" . I said no ****, and lifted it. I guess proving fat slops of **** wrong is incentive for a PR. Doubt ill ever get to your 450 though. And i'm 195 lbs.

Once my Pendlay bar decides to show up (I'll have 550 pounds of bumpers come Saturday) you are damn right - I'm going to walk right up and pull that 450!

DL warmups are a funny thing. A warmup weight can feel heavy, even if it's 150# below what you end up pulling. So don't get psyched out. I did a CFT on Monday, so I was already warm going into DLs. I pulled 315# for a double and 405 and 440 (dropping them both) for singles. I went to 485 from there. That should give you an idea of the jumps.

It takes several days to recover from a max DL. By early next week, you will be recovered and feel like a lion. Watch some vids of Bolton and Magnusson. Remember that DLs, according to Louie, are an emotional lift. Get your mind right, go in the gym, and pull a big number.

If your neighbors are anything like mine, when they walk by with their dogs and see that bar loaded up with bumpers being lifted off the ground they'll stand there and gawk then ask if it's 800lbs

I hope I don't lose too much w/this freakin' pulled hamstring....gonna be a few weeks of rehab work at least.
