I don't see the problem with using other sport benchmarks as indicator of our success. I will never row a sub 6:00 2000m unless I specialize and even then it's a long shot. BUT, knowing it's possible and knowing what I sacrafice in order to maintain balance in other areas is actually a part of being balanced.

Rowing is part of the athletic standards found here at CrossFit Seattle (wfs):

2k is under the work category.
