So maybe I won't get laughed at for this next question.

As a former dancer, (no poles involved!) I am well aware of the athletic capacity dance requires.

Just wondering if any of my CF bretheren or sisteren who dance (recreationally counts too!) can tell me of improvements since starting their CF practice. No sore calves after dancing in heels or not dropping a partner during throws maybe?

Anyone... anyone?

Lincoln, I think a very large belt buckle would have put you on the top tier!

My roomie - the boot scootin boogyman. I had no idea. I agree with yet another room mate (looks like I really get around) about the get up. Top step guy did the goat ropin buckle and the hat, had to be what put him over the top. I'll bet his OHS sucks.

Yeah, but his Polka was pretty good. I came in second by one lousy point. Second sucks. I've come in second at Worlds twice. First place wins that big belt buckle.

I love this site. I ask about dancing, and it all comes back to competition and the urge to whip someone with a belt...

Or maybe it's just me.

I used to do teach/perform/compete in a dance called Lindy Hop. It's a pretty athletic dance -- performances are essentially sprints with occaisional partner tosses thrown in. When done full speed, it's like CF w/ rhythm. My regular dance partner (& wife) has been out of commission, dealing with knee injuries since last summer and I've been doing the WODs pretty regularly since Dec. So I don't yet know what effect CF will on my dancing, but I can't wait to see what happens when she's healed enough to get tossed around again.

If you're interested, here's a classic Lindy Hop clip that really shows the athleticism of the dance (dancing starts around minute 3):

And here's a modern clip of a comp that I was in a few years ago:
