I'm thinking of putting together my own trailmix so that I don't have to eat larabars everyday as a snack but something easy enough that I can throw in my bag. I was thinking of starting with:

Almonds
Chocolate covered soynuts
Dried Cranberries
Raisins
Walnuts
Dates (What do you think?)
Granola (iffy)

The last 2 I'm not sure about, what do you guys think? What else would you add or delete from the list? What is the general consensus on fruits that have high GI? Still good or forget it?

Keep in mind I am not trying to go all out zone diet yet, just trying to curb a few areas of my eating... So rather than having say a sandwich I would shift to trailmix or a larabar....

almonds walnuts = great

The rest are high gl/gi low nutrient density + soy is a legume so lots of lectins plus it contains estrogen.

I would go laurbar+nuts+jerky or other protein

How about adding some chopped raw macadameia nuts and goji berries. Both really good quality.
