Exercises Movements, technique & proper execution

can someone please refer me to a video so I can do these today with proper form? I'd like to confirm that I am just pushing the bar up from my collar bone to a straight arm overhead position for 3 reps 7 sets. Is this an explosive movement? What will distinguish this from a body-building isolated exercise?

sounds about right to me. military press can be done seated or standing. i think the one typically used for XFIT is standing. no push or jerk (no legs), just a standing military press. you can rack the bar, or clean it...i clean it. that is your starting position - bar on the front of the chest, slightly on the shoulders. then just press it up. check out the link for "exercises," then "presses." it is the first press shown. very simple.

I believe that technically a military press requires the feet be together (standing). But the actual pressing part is the same: just press from shoulders to overhead. But do presses standing regardless. Make sure to get the bar back all the way overhead, not out in front.

There was a recent CFJ(?) in which Rippetoe had an article on the "Press." Technically a "military press" is done standing, feet together.

For me doing presses, the feet together helps to keep me from wanting to cheat(Push press).
