I’m familiar with crossfit training but never really went hardcore.
Currently I’m out of shape. I play basketball once our twice a week and participate in a little parkour and urban climbing with a few of my buddies. I want to get back into the swing of things but the gym I have access to at the college I go to isn’t very crossfit friendly. I’m moving back home and plan to build up a nice little home gym to do crossfit in. I have a jump rope, swiss ball, medicine ball, a punching bag, and a kinda crappy weight set. I’m thinking about making a sand bag, a heavier medicine ball, one of those pipe things for push ups, hspu’s, and L-sits (can’t think of the name right now) and maybe a sled. Also, I was thinking of buying a pull up bar for a door way, some dumb bells, and a weighted vest. I have about 3 and a half months at the gym on campus and was wondering what I should work on. And like I said it’s not very crossfit friendly. |

Ryan,
Welcome back. Does your campus gym have free weights (barbell or dumbbell) and a place to do pull-ups? If so, you can probably do at least 2/3 of the WOD's with only slight mod's. We're currently in a 3 day cycle that requires only a pull-up bar (if none in the gym, try a nearby park or playground, use a soccer goal cross-bar, horizontal tree limb, etc.) and a barbell with some weights, although a cage would be good for the back squats in the CrossFit Total. I'd recommend starting gradually with the WOD's, scaled appropriate to your fitness level. If no barbells, sub dumbbells. Be creative. |

Ryan;
You might want to make/buy some rings. You'll be able to do dips/chinups etc with them & they don't take up alot of space. :080402gudl_prv: |

You should start by learning how to perform the basic movements properly; squat, deadlift, and overhead press. From here you can branch out to everything else.
