Hey all,

Any input on the bench press? I do not see it used much if at all in most WOD's and am getting great results from the excercises my trainor is getting me to do....but I miss my bench!

Can the bench press be incorporated into Crossfit work outs and is there a better way to do it than just the old, low rep high weight routine?

Yes it can be incorporated. IMO it is used much less than many other moves because it is not as beneficial FOR MOST PEOPLE as say ring pushups, overhead pressing, clean and jerking etc.

I spent lots of time benching in the past but have greatly decreased the amount of time on the BP but I still do it.

You can work in sports, weak point training or moves you simply enjoy into crossfit quite easily.

Heck you could even just do Lynne once or twice a month (a benchmark workout of 5 rounds max reps BW BP and Pullups). Then also do twice a month of 10 sets of three or 5x5 or something like that with heavy weight.

You could BP before or instead of one of your CF workouts.
