CroCop is fighting Eddie Sanchez first, but he has said he would be interested in dropping to 205 after that.

OK, here’s another stupid question based on my “still learning” status. On UFC’s link, how come there are no stats listed for Rampage or Cro Cop?
http://www.ufc.com/index.cfm?fa=fighter.detail&pid=516 http://www.ufc.com/index.cfm?fa=fighter.detail&pid=517 (Work/family safe links) What’s the deal? Are they new comers and if so, why would Liddell be interested in fighting either one of them? Jeffrey, you mentioned a rematch. So, where does one go the learn the history of the original fight? |

Peter my guess on the stats would be that they are sill updating them due to the fact they both just got signed in the past few weeks. Chuck would want to fight rampage to avenge his lost and fight cro cop to prove he can beat someone who most mma fans believe would demolish chuck.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vQOGIFFs85E link contains hihlights of chuck and rampage fight and sport violence. |

Peter - CroCop and Rampage are both very accomplished fighters, but in organizations outside of the UFC. CroCop fought for K-1 as a kickboxer, then Pride for MMA. Rampage established himself in Pride, then fought for the WFA. So although they are brand new to UFC, they are veteran fighters.
A good place to go to learn about fighter records is Sherdog.com -- they have a "Fightfighter" where you can look up someone and learn all about them, watch videos, see photos, etc. They also post daily news about the sport and all sorts of other things. |

Just be careful of the forum on Sherdog...It could possibly make your head explode.

Do the different promotions have perception issues with "paper championships" and the like? It seems that unification fights are impossible with the promoters calling all the shots...

Thanks for the insight Jeffrey. I now understand better why these two men would be greatly sought after by Liddell.
Thanks Becca for the extra info. I will check out those other sources. Now to indulge me further, to hazard a guess, would it be a great overgeneralization on my part if I were to assume that Pride is a proving ground for candidates being selected to move on to UFC. I here “Pride” being tossed around a lot by you all and was just wondering what the particular difference is. I would have to hazard a guess (based on my 2c of knowledge) that the UFC organization has a larger purse. Also, speaking of K1, is Michael McDonald still fighting? I have not heard from him in a few years. I liked him and use to watch K1 fights before I started getting into UFC. K1 was more typical of the organizations I use to fight under. After doing some recent research, it’s reported that Mcdonald did beat Cro Crop at one time. He also defeated Rick Roufus as well. I thought that Rick was a UFC fighter. I thought I heard his name mentioned recently while watching UFC on TV. I could be wrong….wouldn’t be the first time. http://www.crossfit.com/discus/messages/21357/35186.jpg |
