More great form. Good thing for the straps.

Two things:

1. In the grand scheme of lifting, that kid clearly has no clue how strong he's NOT. Otherwise, he wouldn't be posting that video on YouTube.

2. That said, he's a strong kid. Imagine how strong he'd be if he had some coaching.

Yeah he probably could do 405 SLDL in no time if he was taught properly.

The kid is very strong. I know him from another board. Probably stronger than many who criticize him. Has everone here pulled perfectly ever single time? Anyone who hasn't ever hitched probably hasn't pulled very heavy.

Most importantly, he is aware of his flaws and respectfully asks for advice, listens, and implements it. Should one only post their perfect lifts or top performances? He's not doing it to brag.

He admits that pull was bad. Here, he does 405x3 without straps, easily:

Not bad for a 17 year old with a year of lifting.

You'll have to forgive me Andrew; I took his little nod to the camera as somewhat braggadocios. Is he from the East Coast? He reminds me of a kid I know from New York who a lot people in the Mid-West thought was cocky, BUT, he's just from New York. My bad.

Seriously, if you have any kind of relationship with him, STRONGLY encourage him to get with a good coach. He's in danger of hurting himself. As you mentioned, he's a strong kid. Kids like that are in real danger of getting too strong, too fast. If his form doesn't get better and his weights keep going up, he could be in trouble.

I dont like any Yankee fan....It's a Boston thing. Ha.

But why is he doing SLDLs instead of DLs? One day he is going to have some serious back issues if he keeps going heavy bent over with all the stress on his back....someone needs to tell him that.
