I've got a lead on yet another rower (model C) but it's missing the monitor (cable intact). Can I replace the monitor with either a PM2 or higher? Will the monitor be charged by the rower if I try this? I remember someone saying that a retrofit like this will work but won't be charged if attached to a certain model. Thanks.

Hello Will,
You can't buy the PM2's because ConceptII does not make them anymore. You can get the PM3 but unlike the Model D, the model C will not charge the monitor while rowing. This is not a big deal as I did this with my model C and had my rower for more than a year and never changed the batteries. I would assume that it also depends on how much you use your rower too. I didn't use mine too much other than the Crossfit workouts.

Gents,
I bought a PM2 from Concept 2 last week and it should arrive Monday. The price was $110 plus $6 shipping. They no longer carry refurbished PM2's so the new one is the only option from C2. Buy the rower if the price is right.

Matt

Thanks, guys. It's already sold, but I'm not worried about it. I let it go because after double checking with the seller, it turned out that the cable was still attached, but the plug to the monitor itself was gone, and that was a headache I didn't want to mess with.
