Got my 350 today. I was actually going to try this complicated Russian workout. I needed to start with a 270 triple. It was so easy I just jumped to singles at 290, 310, got bored, 340 for last PR, then 350. Still felt good, but didn't want to push. That's why I have trouble doing the WOD, my brain works on chaos theory.

Also getting my pull-ups to increase. I have a system. Now I do 6 sets of 5, most every weekday.

Nice work, Gary!! 2xBW is a big milestone. You may have even inspired me to do a bit of specific work on my deadlift again. I've had 2xBW for a while now, but with my build, that's still short of 300#. I REALLY, REALLY wanna get 300#; I don't even train in pounds, I train in kgs, but it's just such a nice, round figure...

This topic is getting bumped to the top because...

I got 2xBW this morning too. I've been doing a ME Black Box variation for a few weeks now, and today was 3-2-2-2-1-1-1-1-1 of deadlift. The downside was I couldn't find my Tite Grip (basically chalk) so I was kind of bummed. I forged ahead, and set a PR of 335 (old PR 325) on the last rep despite the weaker grip.

I was still feeling good and a bit frisky so I decided to load up 350 (bw=175). The grip held out just long enough to get the lift. Once I get some more chalk, I am SO on the way to 405 (which would use ALL the 45s in the weightroom at school).

Not bad for a beanpole! (6'4", 175#)

Oh, and 29 day belated congrats to Gary!

Thought this would be a good place to put this:

Finally! Got my 2X bodyweight deadlift, lifting 310 lbs. at a bodyweight of 152 lbs. I had been anticipating and dreading the next 1RM deadlift WOD because I have been hoping to lift this weight. I’m not sure why, other than it’s a fun measure of progress. I’ve felt like I’ve been plateauing or even going backwards in my fitness, mostly from lack of sleep, work stress, and some bad (but convenient) choices in my nutrition day-to-day these last several months.

So I was psyched to lift the weight.

I didn’t do any extra deadlift training but was hoping that the WOD would bring it to me. I tried not to skip any WODs that had deadlifts, back extensions, or squats. (But I did skip virtual shoveling!) I’ve probably been averaging about 4 WODs per week and have been CrossFitting for, wow, over a year now. (OK, so maybe it took me forever to reach this goal!) My DL 3-2-2... WOD 1RMs have looked like this:

26 Jan 05--225 lbs. (weak! but worried about form and how my back would respond)
27 Feb--240 (bodyweight 152)
16 Jul--275
17 Oct--310 (bodyweight 152) (not the greatest form; 305 lbs. before this was with better form)

I still get DOMS for several days after these WODs. I do try to be good about form and feel like the lifts are better now that I deadlift in my socks instead of running shoes (big chest, head up, etc.).

What about becoming a metabolic monster? Up the intensity. Some of the times here are unreal! That would be cool. I need to set a couple of goals. Sub-10 Helen, sub-7 Fran, 40 pullups, +BW weighted pullup, sub-20 5K, so many from which to choose, even if some of these are modest goals.
