Re: Poorman's Rings
I just made my own rings using the oven and pvc. Worked great and real easy. I'll post pictures soon. Thanks!

Re: Poorman's Rings
I tried the PVC pipe on the oven yesterday. 13 minutes on 350'F with a really fine sand inside. Worked out great!
To anyone who got kinks and buckling, try a finer sand with no pebbles. The one reason I was hesitant to try this was because I didn't want to try it if it was gonna kink. Turns out it worked beautifully. Here are some pictures. Thanks everyone! http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/i...0/IMG_0057.jpg http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/i...0/IMG_0048.jpg http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/i...0/IMG_0055.jpg |

Re: Poorman's Rings
I made a set of pvc rings a few weeks ago for my garage gym. They kinked a little so i put some compound i had laying around and put some athletic tape over it. The athletic tape is getting really sticky/messy. Any suggestions on what other grip to use. I was thinking the grip for base ball bats but i think it might be too thick. Just might have to make another pair and hopefully they wont get any kinks.
Frederic, is that kind of pvc pipe stronger than the white (40)? |

Re: Poorman's Rings
The hockey tape I used got nasty for a while (hands would stick to it, come off with black sticky crap all over them), but stopped after a while. Chalk also prevents it, but I didn't have any for the first few weeks that I had my old rings (no problem with the new ones and using chalk every time).

Re: Poorman's Rings
Hey fredrick I am assuming those straps are adjustable? If so where can I get some?
Sorry I'm new to rings and am gathering supplies to make a pair. Thanks |

![]() Another success!
26" long 1" schedule 40 with a paint can. I used "Desert Sand" from the garden area at Home Depot for cheap fine grain. |

Have been looking also but I have had no luck. Anyone. This seems like the way to go for sure, wish I could find some.
