OK to do a workout after a Jui Jitsu workout?

Currently I do CF on Mon, Tue, Thur, Fri. I'll be starting a jui jitsu workout on Thursdays- my question is, should I continue doing a CF workout on Thursday morning and then do the jui jitsu workout/roll later in the day or should I skip the morning CF workout and maybe do some heavy squats and cleans after the jj? My goal is weight gain/muscle growth, so I don't want to do too much....

thanks!

If your goal is weight gain/strength, you should be hitting the heavy lifts first.

Lift heavy twice a week. If you roll on Thursday's try lifting on Tuesday and Friday. It also depends on what your JJ workouts are like.

I would lift heavy before practice and skip the WOD.

There is nothing wrong with it depending on your goal.

thanks for all your responses- so why is it better to lift heavy before a JJ practice/roll than after?

The human body responds better to short term duration work first.

So if you planning to do a vertical leap, max effort DL, 100m and 1500m run you would do them in that order.

Power -> strength -> endurance because the former rely on the nervous system which is easy exhausted at high intensity (hence you wanna do the things that require the most CNS intensive work first)... while the latter tend to rely on the energy systems which are fairly easily replenished.
