calorie/food log apps for android?
I have been using DailyPlate for almost two years now and I really like it. I was thinking about adding an app to my phone and I wanted to know A) which app do people prefer? B) are there any apps that also correspond to a site for additional interfacing (e.g. DailyPlate, calorieking etc.)?
I see a livestrong app when I do a google search but I don't know if I am able to link that with my existing account and I also am unable to find this app in the market. |

Re: calorie/food log apps for android?
I have one called Restaurant Nutrition that I try to use. It has the info for almost every restaurant I can think of. The logo is a baby blue, white plate, and the knife/fork/spoon in the baby blue again. There's one for iPhone that my friend has that is super great, I'll ask my friend about it (I have android).

I just installed MyFitnessPal and it seems like it's going to be a good app. I don't know quite how deep the database is, but it does allow you to create custom meals. We shall see. |

Thanks Ron, I'll have to check that one out cause that is one thing that is missing with this one.

Re: calorie/food log apps for android?
so the MyFitnessPal app is pretty nice but the database is slim both online and in the app. My suggestion is that if you have a lot of custom meals or meals/items you frequently eat/drink, create them through their website as it is very cumbersome to do so through the app and it get's a little frustrating. This will save a great deal of time when adding them on the fly via the handset.
This app serves it's purpose, but it requires far more interaction than TheDailyPlate. It is free though so if you can live with having to add most of your own items and fumble through the quirky logging system - this is a solid #2 option. |

I use myfitnesspal fairly regularly. Once you add all your custom foods/meals, it becomes a breeze.

I use mynetdiary. Was originally for the Iphone and ported to android. It does cost though, like 10bucks with the accompanying website.

I use MyFitnessPal, it's a lot better than I was expecting it to be. It's pretty quick, the barcode scanner is pretty quick and easy. Overall best app on my android.
