pullups, bend over rows and mu-ups

do bent over rows enhance the pullups strength in the top/making it possible to engange the back more and thus improving the pulling-transition strength of the muscle up?
coach sommers advised to train gymnatic rows regularly...that brought the question up

Re: pullups, bend over rows and mu-ups

bent over rows probably would help. but even better would be to probably do more pull ups... sooo... why not do more pull ups...

Re: pullups, bend over rows and mu-ups

If you're looking more pulling strength for your muscle-ups, do all your pull-ups as chest-to-bar pull-ups in the next few weeks. Do weighted pull-ups and do jumping muscle-ups and negatives.

Re: pullups, bend over rows and mu-ups

i asked at first hand to understand but regards my pullups:
i am stuck with my numerbs for some time now. i do about 17-18 dead hang pull ups and have a 110 lbs 1rep Pullups (i weigh 200lbs). On weighted pullups i only do chin-above-bar because i am particulary weak in the upper part of the PU. as i did a lot of stuff with my pullups (no overtraining) i just wondered if rows enhance the strength for the chin-above-bar to chest-to-bar ROM

Rows won't really help out your MU strength. If they did I'd be knocking MU's out like nobody's business, LOL.

Re: pullups, bend over rows and mu-ups

Like stated above, work on CTB (chest to bar) deadhangs and weighted. You said you are weak at the top, so get stronger by pulling higher for all your reps. I like to do a density type workout for pullups, so something like 5 CTB pullups on the minute for 5 minutes, adding 1 minute each week.
