Online Journals

I was wondering if anyone used online journals for their clients. I know they don't keep any kind of journals themselves and thought it might be easier if I set something up online for them and linked it to the site. I just want them to be tracking their progress to see how much they improve. Then again maybe I need to push them to keep their own. Any thoughts or advice is appreciated.

Re: Online Journals

Just a suggestion,

You could probably make it work by setting up a Blogger account. Its free, easy, and customizable. Just the the WOD's posted here, you could list the date, describe the workout, list times of the clients and post pictures. Obviously, if they consented to their photos and times being posted, this could be a great way for them to compete with themselves and others you train.

Re: Online Journals

Richard, thanks for the advice. I actually already have a website set up through them with pics and things like that. I guess I was thinking of something more specific for them. Good though to push them posting there though and make it more specific for that... thanks.

Re: Online Journals

Roger Harrell has something CF-specific set up; not sure how much lattitude you have in terms of customization for individual clients.

You can have a peak at www.digitalfitnesstraining.com (safe).

Log in as a trainer with "trainer" and "password", and as a client as "client" with "password" and poke around a bit. Feel free to add, edit, etc. whatever is in there.

Still in (slow) progress finalizing some details, but it should be available for use in the next couple months. I'd be interested in any feedback, feature suggestions, etc.

Re: Online Journals

Hey Greg,

I'm working at getting my own CF business up and running. I saw your post and checked out the link (hope you don't mind). What a great tool! I would be very interested in using it for my future clients. Could you let me know when it becomes available?

Thanks,

James Gordon

Re: Online Journals

Greg,
Is this going to be a fee-based service that trainers can sign up for? Looks like a great tool to have access to, thanks for sharing.

Dennis -

Yes, it will basically be a subscription with the cost depending on how many clients will be assigned to each acct, like 1-15, 16-40, etc. I expect the cost to be pretty nominal.

Re: Online Journals

My tool is located at:
http://www.athleticslog.com

The CF homepage WODs are in the system as they come out. You can be set up as a group administrator to enter workouts for your groups. Just email me.

There are a few of these coming together. It will be great to be able to pick the tool that works best for each situation...
