A Soccer Mom's Log
I've been a gym rat for many years now here in Atlanta and used to work full-time as a Personal Trainer. Until recently, my workouts involved about 5-6 hours a week of cardio and a split weight-lifting routine about 4 days per week. Yes, I work out in a globogym. I found myself bored out of my mind and then, Crossfit landed in my lap (and on my shoulders, quads, hamstrings, abs, etc!)
I've only been at it about a month, but have found it the most challenging thing I've ever done! I had heard about CF from another gym junkie about a year ago. After a quick peek at this website, I laughed then turned and ran. As I recall, that day the WOD involved a massive number of pull-ups. Ah, the pull-up! It's haunted me for years now. It's at the very center of why I returned to CF. I will master it! So within a few short weeks, I had my first pull-up (okay that was only about a week ago and I can still only do one, single, puny, dead-hang, overhand grip pull-up!). I was elated! Decided to keep a log beginning today since "Angie" was such a monster for me! Angie 100 Pull-ups (started with pink woody bands then blue, then green) 100 Push-ups (all manly style, but broken sets) 100 Ab Mat sit-ups, unanchored 100 Squats. dynamax depth 19:40 20 min of globo cardio (can't help myself) |

Re: A Soccer Mom's Log
Yes, Chantal, Angie was a monster and today is a new day!
Got my eye on you too, Byers! Your avatar cracks me up every time. Last night I dreamed that I was doing an endless set of pull-ups. I just kept kipping and kipping! I woke up in the middle of the dream in a sweat. It reminded me of how I would have dreams that I could fly when I was a kid. So off to the gym I went. I felt like I could move a mountain today. Had a few PRs! This stuff really works! WOD CFWUx2 Deadliftsx3: 135, 155, 165, 175 (PR), 175 Last set was pretty ugly. Form crumbled a bit. Pull-ups (GTG) 2 reps/5 sets (2 over, 1 under, 2 mixed) BP 45x10 (2 sets) 95x5 115x2 (PR) 120 (f) 115x2 115x2 Cooldown: Ran 3 miles:Easy 8 min mile pace I'm beat. I really want some cookies too. Grrrrrr! |

Richard-Working on making friends with OHS, but not close friends. Just casual! BFFs are bench press, lunges, jumping rope, and running! Enemies include pull-ups, box jumps, KTE, and dips. Working on being friends with everyone though!
