161kg snatch at 94kg by Jon North

I know some of you are Jon North fans... here he is snatching 161kg weighing about .5kg below the 94kg limit. Done this afternoon. Not the best catch, but boy does he pull the heck out of it.

I had a question about his technique. It looks like to me that Jon leads his first pull with his hips (shoots them up) rather than keeping an even back angle from floor to knees. Is this the case? If so, is this ideal or OK in certain cases, or is this one of those technique things where the lifter is advanced enough that it's not worth messing them up trying to fix it?
