My hands keep ripping on the bars whenever we do swings in gymnastics class so I want to tape my hands. Can anyone point me toward an internet site with some good pictures of how to do it right? I don't really want to waste class time asking the coach how.

For some reason I haven't been able to find this searching google.

Have you considered grips? They can be found at the american gymnast website.

I don't know what kind of tape you are using or how you are thinking of wrapping you hands, but I have never seen tape used in place of grips.

1. Get grips. It will help, but more importantly it will help you hang on the bar properly and allow for much bigger swings.
2. Tape grips help. 1/2 strip of tape starting at your wrist, up and around your index finger back to your wrist. repeat for middle and ring finger. Anchor with a band around your wrist... I'll get photos/video for that on my site one of these days.
3. Don't grip the bar too hard. Hook your hand, don't squeeze the bar.
4. You're gonna rip anyway until your hands really toughen up.
