Up until starting my new line of work, I competed in numerous triathlons a year. I considered my self pretty typical....high carbs, high carbs and then high carbs. I have been doing crossfit now off and on for about 2 years and religiously for the last few months. I also have changed over to the "Zone Lifestyle" about 3 months ago.

My question is, up until 2 weeks ago, I had only swam once and biked 3 times in the last 1.5 years. I did a moch tri 2 weeks ago and swam 1.2 miles, biked 30 and ran about 5. Call me crazy, but I am signing up for the GFT 1/2 Ironman in Clermont, FL in October. Can anyone out there give me some advice on nutrition????? Do I need to go back to my high carb diet during the race, or can I maintain the zone idea...but maybe eat more frequently and increase the carb ratio slightly???? I was pleasantly surprised to see that crossfit training and running was enough to keep me in the game.

check out this site and read what he has to say about nutrition. He's a 8:30 ironman racer who eats about as close to paleo as possible for a endurance athlete.
