If you are trying to lose weight/fat, your average should be around 2200. I would try 2500 on training days and 1900 on rest days.

Re: Renegade Diet

Darryl also can't ignore the benefit of compliance. If someone is believes a diet has a befefit that is motivating them, that's good enough reason for them to follow it. Whether the science behind it is correct according to textbooks and studies doesn't matter. If it works for another reason entirely, it doesn't matter. The end justifies the means.

By correcting, you are (probably unintentionally) demotivating.

Re: Renegade Diet

I actually agree with a lot of the stuff the Darryl posts. But I like to try different things. I never did IF and I'm giving it a try. Worse case scenerio, I will stay the same and not loose any fat. But at least I can say I tried it.

What I don't like is how Darryl likes to poo-poo everything that he doesn't believe in and feels like it is ok to trash everyone's threads.

So Darryl, I've asked you before and I'll ask you again, but I'll try to be nice about it. Please stop posting on these threads and start your own.

Re: Renegade Diet

Tell me what you think of my plan.

175, trying to lose fat and put on some muscle/weight. Doing the am cardio w BCAAs, GSLP 3 days a week w some assistance and OLY work, and a MetCon once on the weekend.

Training days:
Calories: 2,500
Protein: 192
Carbs: 210
Fat: 87

Non-Training days:
Calories: 2170
Protein: 184
Carbs: 143
Fat: 84

Looks like maybe my carbs should be adjusted a little bit? Otherwise I think I'm pretty good.

Re: Renegade Diet

Sadly both of those are food guide pyramid plus overfeeding with the different options. Which I agree is not beneficial. Neither compare high fat low carb to high carb low fat, the high fat experiment had way too many carbs.

It's not about belief Paulo. It's about science, and how the authors of these fad diets misrepresent it in order to profit from peoples ignorance and gullibility.
