Wall Storage Unit, Any Ideas?

Hey Guys / Gals,

I have three olympic bars for my garage gym and need to make a wall storage unit for them. I like the Rogue Gun Rack, but figured I could make something similar, any ideas?

Thanks

-M

a lot of people use bike hooks like these

WFS

easy to install, and they have rubber on them so they won't damage the bars.

We originally have 2, 2x4s bolted to the wall with holes cut out the side as seen in the background here:

It was easy to make and worked well enough. Now we have the gun rack.

The problem with the bike hooks are that they are designed for a vertical pull and after some time, will deform with the weight pulling on them.
I've seen various wall mount hooks at harware stores that would be better suited. Wander around the garage/storage section and find something like this:

Re: Wall Storage Unit, Any Ideas?

I have the same situation with 3 bars and needing storage. I took two 2x4's and hung them vertically on the wall and bolted the exact same hooks from ace hardware that Steven shared. Works great, easy and cheap! Each hook holds 25lbs so you are fine with capacity sake. I have 2 hooks per bar...

I bolted 2x4's to the concrete block, screwed another 2x4 to the ones bolted to the wall and inserted 1.25" wood dowels at 45 degrees. Each rack hold 8 bars.
