#1 Reason Not to CrossFit w/ Cheap BB

Served me well for five years but I guess the new bumper plates and cleans were too much for it!

Yup, exact same thing happened to my C-list bar. I still bought another one for $45..by my thinking I can go through 1 every 6 months for the next 5 years before the break-even point on a good bar.

Or you can spend ~$300 and get a bar that will probably last you the rest of your life... to each their own I guess.

Bah, just duct tape that bar back together and only use it for deads. Good as new!

I'm waiting for my cheap "free" bar to break, but so far so good. I just have to tighten the nuts at the end after every few reps of dropping olifts.

I'm debating on spending money on The Rogue Bar or buying another cheap bar. Maybe even an Again Faster Bar. Any thoughts?

You got five years out of a $20 bar I'd say you made out pretty damn good.

I can see why they're no good for a high traffic box, but for a single casual user they can take quite a beating.

If you want a cheaper bar, get a troy bar. They are extremely durable and are great for basic crossfitting.

What are you using it for? Metcons and strength work? Primarily Olympic weightlifting?

I was actually just checking out this Troy model here: http://www.csnstores.com/Troy-Barbel...B-TBT1165.html

And yes, I'll only be using it for metcons and strength work (DLs, squats, cleans, presses).
