What is the best 'homemade' piece of equipment You've made?

Mine has to be the Bulgarian training bags, I made a 20lb, 30lb and 40lb bag! I use them for lunges, squat jumps, box jumps, running, overhead swings, kb style swings, tri exts, curls, shoulder presses weighted pushups, tabata squats...

Anyone else?

Re: What is the best 'homemade' piece of equipment You've made?

I'd love to make a Bulgarian bag. However, I haven't been able to find any of those mythical places that give away used tire tubes near me. The nearest Semi truck shop is 30 min away.

I've made the standard PVC rings, PVC parallettes, and a basketball medicine ball. While I didn't make it myself, I did get a pair of pine rounds from Lowe's for my wife to use as training plates.

My best piece of equipment is my squat rack. I've made some modifications to it since those pictures were taken including adding wooden supports to set the bar on if I get crushed by a squat.

I've only made 2 pieces of equipment so far: Parallettes and a Weight Belt. They're both very useful and I'd be hard pressed to pick.

I'd say my plyo boxes have been moderately successful.

Its hard to say what is the "best" piece of equipment. I definetly use my homemade squat stands, pullup bar, and ring mount the most. But I enjoy using my bulgarian bags, softball pullup grips, pvc paralettes, and dragging sled as well. If best means favorite, I gotta go with giant tire. Not really home made, but I certainly did not pay anything for it.

Pull up bar, Plyo Boxes, Bulgarian bag and parallettes. Use the pullup bar the most. All are fun though.

I would say it is between my ABS Pipe Parallettes or my plyobox... Really hard to pick between the two though.

Side note- I have always wanted to snag a tractor tire but I never know what size/weight I should be getting. Always was interested in the whole tireflip/sledge workouts...never have done them though

My super cambered bar- this did involve welding. Can't beat it for squats and good mornings!
