Shake for breakfast but what to put into it?

Hey guys,
just a bit of background so you know what I want from you. I'm an airtraffic controller and work in shifts so I have no "normal" day routine. For breakfast I eat a bit but not much so I'm usually hungry again when I get my first break at work (which can vary by +/- 1 hour due to my work).

So I was looking for a nice recipe for a shake for breakfast that should keep me full for a few hours. I decided that a shake is probably my only solution because at 4:30 in the morning I'm not able to make anything else

So what should I put into that shake? Any recipes or links where I can get some ideas?

Thanks for your help.

It takes me all of about 7 minutes in the morning to make a 5 egg omelet with sausage, mushrooms, and salsa. Just sayin'....

But if you still think you don't have time for anything else, use some whey protein, coconut milk, and maybe mix some berries in there depending on whether you're using a blender and what flavor whey you're using. A handful of nuts on the side will help keep you full for longer.

it's not about how long it takes me to make me an omlette or whatever but rather about my mental status at that time.

what do you mean "mental status?" Tired? Groggy? Everyone is like that when they first wake up. If you have the time, eat a meal. If you don't have time, the shake that Eric gave you would be fine. Maybe add some almond butter and a shot or two of olive oil(the more fat you eat, the more energy you will have and the less hungry you will feel)

Re: Shake for breakfast but what to put into it?

My favorite shakes include vegetables not because I love the flavor, but it is the easiest and fastest way to incorporate them into my diet without cooking or really even having to taste them.

When ever you put a vegetable into the blender you normally want to put an apple in with it to neutralize the flavor. Just as a heads up. Also only one apple per shake is needed.

1. Carrots, Banana, grapes, protein, broccoli, apple, ice

2. Almonds, Apple, Kale, protein powder, grapes celery banana

I quick thing to keep in mind, when you are mixing things that do not have a large amount of natural water in them like carrots kale broccoli and almonds it is important to either add a little water or add a fruit that has lots of water in it for consistency.

Hope this is helpful

Jim

Re: Shake for breakfast but what to put into it?

I blend together:

2 scoops whey protein powder (40 grams of protein)
1/2 cup coconut milk
1 cup regular milk
1 banana
A couple handfuls of frozen berries (maybe a cup?)
Ice
Sometimes a cap of vanilla extract

Re: Shake for breakfast but what to put into it?

My morning shake (every morning):

4 scoops Nitrean
2 scoops RESULTS
2 scoops of BCAA (a new product we will release in a couple of months)
10g Microlactin

Mixed in water.

With that I take 3-5g of DHA/EPA

It keeps me full for several hours and it all about performance.
