I know there have been a few threads on Weightlifting shoes, but I don't think anybody has discussed the sizing and comfort issues.

I heard the Adidas are really narrow. Is that true? I know my Sambas are kind of narrow and hurt after a long day. Therefore, I don't think I want to get the Adidas lifting shoes.

I'm looking at the Do Wins from Zhang Kong USA, the Power Firms, and the VS Athletics. Does anybody have any opinion about the fit and comfort of those shoes?

I've got the adidas and they are fairly narrow but i've got narrow feet and find many other shoes too wide.

Havinf said that my girlfriend has got wide feet and still manages with the adidas fine. I don;t know about the other brands.

I did find that for the first couple of weeks my feet got a bit numb from the hard soles and the straps so whatever shoes you end up with i'd suggest keeping them a bit loose until your feet get used to them.

I tend to have wider/flat feet. The cheap boots that I bought from vsathletics fit fine, but I only wear them on the days when the WOD is strictly weight training.

Keith- I had some adidas(just recently sold them) and they are very narrow IMO. Like Karl, i also have very wide, flat feet. I may try the VSathletics for only $50. The power firms may be a good option as they are somewhat custom made based on a tracing of the outline of your foot, but then again, they're pricey as well.

Hey Keith,
I originally got the Ironwork IIs in my dress shoe size (size 8.5). Definitely a bit too snug since I have somewhat wide feet as well. Got them in a size 9 and the fit is much better. Most of the shoe seems to be made with material that doesn't have a lot of stretch to it, unlike leather.

Keith,
I recently bought the adidas ironworks II shoe and had to move up from an 11.5 (my usual tennis shoe/dress shoe size) to a 12. It has worked out MUCH better!

Thanks, guys. I'm still trying to figure out how much I can spend and what to get. I'll let you know when I get some. My lifts are just starting to feel good and I think some new shoes might seal the deal.
