Anthony (M/31/74.5kg)

Squat
1st attempt: 210kg (463) - 3 whites
2nd attempt: 220kg (485) - 3 reds
3rd attempt: 220kg (485) - 3 reds

I would have made the 485 squat if I didn't tweak my hip/groin in the first attempt (long story). But I don't think I would have made 500 healthy or not.

Bench
1st attempt: 130kg (287) - 3 whites, easy
2nd attempt: 137.5kg (303) - 3 whites, easy
3rd attempt: 147.5kg (325) - 3 whites, easy, provincial record

Bench felt easy - should have went for 150/331! I guess that's what happens when you actually train it before a meet.

Deadlift
1st attempt: 250kg (551) - 3 whites, easy
2nd attempt: 265kg (584) - 3 whites, easy
3rd attempt: 272.5kg (601) - 3 reds, no lockout

Despite the hip/groin, these actually felt really good. The 601 was so close, but I gripped the bar slightly to the left (maybe because of hip/groin) and couldn't correct the poor positioning before lockout. Literally 2 inches away!

Total: 622.kg (1372) - provincial record
Wilks: 445.65

Overall … mixed feelings. I'm happy I got to lift at Nationals, I'm happy I didn't bomb, I'm happy I even got to take home a bronze medal. But I didn't hit the numbers I wanted. I think Sheiko was great in terms of volume and creating a solid base, but I don't think a modified 8 weeks was enough to really use as preparation. Especially after using low volume for so long. Lesson learned!

Jodi (F/31/47.8kg)

Squat
1st attempt: 92.5kg (204) - 3 whites
2nd attempt: 97.5kg (215) - 3 whites, provincial record
3rd attempt: 102.5kg (226) - 3 reds

Squats felt better than usual but still not as great as I would like. I can't seem to hit the numbers first thing on competition morning that I can nail training in the evenings in the gym.

Bench
1st attempt: 62.5kg (138) - 2 whites, 1 red
2nd attempt: 67.5kg (149) - 3 whites, provincial record
3rd attempt: 72.5kg (160) - 3 reds

Bench felt ok but couldn't keep the bar in my groove.

Deadlift
1st attempt: 137.5kg (303) - 3 whites, easy
2nd attempt: 145kg (320) - 3 whites, national record
3rd attempt: 150kg (331) - 3 reds

Deadlifts felt pretty good. I thought for sure I was going to nail the 330 - dammit! I just need to be more patient.

Total: 310kg (551.16) - elite total, provincial record
Wilks: 411.83

Overall, a pretty good day. I earned the gold medal and qualified for Worlds.

Feels good to be getting back into the metcons...kinda. haha! Used 50 pound sandbag for the ground to shoulders.

Well, my first three days back went pretty well...hopefully my conditioning work will start to get faster soon. Gotta learn to feel comfortable with the uncomfortable again - LOL! Rest day tomorrow. WOOT!
