Who drinks beer?
I had not had alcohol in a month or two until the other day when I opened an older decent quality can of beer
It was a very nice change but not sure if it fits my health and fitness goals How many crossfit/paleo folks use alcohol? I know Devany does |

Re: Who drinks beer?
There is nothing wrong with beer or alcohol in moderation. You can use it as a 'cheat' or treat every now and then. Sticking to a very strict diet all the time can be boring and stressful. Arnold Schwarzenegger, back in the day, sometimes would drink beer after workouts

Occasionally as a cheat. As far as that goes, I find that one beer (ONE) has minimal negative effects.

Re: Who drinks beer?
I certainly drank more before I started Crossfitting; my time at the gym was just to ward off some of the negative effects of drinking and eating terribly. But since starting Crossfit I've become excited about my physical abilities again and have lost my appreciation for the hang-over. However, I still really enjoy the occasional brew, except now I can afford higher-class, more delicious beer cuz I don't drink nearly as much of it. I might have 2 or 3 beers on a weekend night, but that's not even every weekend. I'll grab a Guinness when I'm out for dinner. If anything, my appreciation for beer has gone up now that my consumption has gone down.

Re: Who drinks beer?
I heart beer. I will usually have a light beer on a weeknight, if I am gonna have one.
Actually I might have a Guiness tonight while I watch the ball game. I also feel the effects the if I have too many, so I have slowed down on it...for the most part. I think in moderation its fine. Just depends how intense you want to be with your diet. "Youre not hardcore, unless you live hardcore" - School of Rock Have fun! |

Re: Who drinks beer?
I've been drinking 2 glasses of red wine with dinner for the last week to test the effect on overall performance. Outcome on WODs - none. Outcome on sleep and relaxation - sleeping deeper and more relaxed. I eat dinner about 2 1/2 - 3 hours before bed, so I'm not getting drinks right before.
Since it is only helping and not hindering my performance, I'm going to continue! |
