I'm currently on a zero carb diet but I want to kick it. I'm gonna try out the zone diet. I looked on amazon for the book cause I dont really know how it works but a ton of books came up. Which is the best book? I'm looking for recipies and a general understanding.

Crossfit journal #21 is all I have been using since I started about 2 months ago. I'll probably pick up a book later to learn more details but the journal does a great job for recipies and general understanding.

John, A zero carb diet is not a good diet especially if you are into fitness training. The key to maintaining or losing weight is proper nutrition. Your body needs carbs for energy. I would look into the difference between Complex vs. Simple crabs. It took me a while to catch on because of all the brain washing diets that are on the market. Just train and change your lifestyle of eating to a healthy one. Most people look at a diet as a quick fix and it is but it doesn’t last because all it was to them was a diet and not a lifestyle change. I am thrilled you are looking to kick that no carb diet and look into the zone.

John,
As mentioned CF Journal #21 is all you really need to start doing the Zone properly. However, if you want more info of the reasons as to why it works and some of the smaller details you can get into with the Zone I'd suggest Mastering the Zone. |

You're on the right track, John. Kick that no carb diet out the door!
"Mastering the Zone" and for lots of great recipe suggestions, "Zone Meal In Seconds". Also, download the CrossFit Journal #21 for lots of great info and block breakdowns on the Zone. Good luck! |

i'm not quite doing the zone yet, but when i first got interested a few weeks ago, i went to this site, and read all 68 lessons. i didn't want to spend $ on something i didn't know anything about.
i'm still processing the information, but i ordered mastering the zone last night from amazon.com! http://www.zoneperfect.com/site/cont...e.asp?offset=0 |

This is a great site to view if you do not have the book yet. I keep folders bookmarked under specific categories/subjects for quick references in my IE Favorites option. |
