Crossfit and Hand protection
Fellow crossfitters, I need your help. I did a survey for one of my classes around crossfit and hand protection. If you can take a minute or so of your time out of your day to fill out the quick survey I would really appreciate it. Thanks again for all your help!

Might want to add a zero day option for How long a rip kept you out. I've ripped a few times but it rarely stops me from going back the next day. Just tape/bandage and get back at it.

Re: Crossfit and Hand protection
several options missing:
-Doing CrossFit for 1 year or more, 2 years or more, etc. -Rip less than once every few months (or never) -Rips are common during KB snatches a good idea, but the survey needs some work for sure. Are you trying to come up with a product to sell? If so, you have some work to do. I find that athletes with strong grips, adequate conditioning, good technique and good hand hygiene rarely if ever rip their hands. |

Re: Crossfit and Hand protection
I used to get a rip anytime we did over 50 pullups, which seemed to be quite a bit. I tried a lot of things, but batting gloves have been the best. No rips since then. I'm working on better callus management now and might start working out without the gloves.
You have a question about whether there was a protective measure during the rip, but not if there has been a good protective measure SINCE the rip. I haven't ripped in at least 6 months. |

Re: Crossfit and Hand protection
No, im not trying to introduce a product, just conducting some research for a class. But this concept is very interesting to me because it seems that despite the fact that tearing the hands is common nothing has really been done to avoid it. There are a few products on the market that do work but not very many crossfitters use them and I don't understand why. Any body know?
