wod

I want to make sure that I understand today's wod properly. There is just 1 rep of 3 different exercises. Is there more than one set of each?

Re: wod

Just do one of each. Make sure you warm up properly so that you don't hurt yourself. The point of this is to find your max on some key indicators of strength. Then in a few months, when the CFT comes up again, you'll be able measure your strength improvements.

I know you only started two days ago. Between the weighted pullups and the CFT, someone could get the idea that Crossfit is about low rep heavy lifting. But I'm sure there will be plenty of higher volume higher intensity work in our immediate future.

Re: wod

You work up to your max.

So if you knew your max was around 300 lbs for a deadlift you would usually do something like

1x8 bar
1x5 135 lbs
1x4 225 lbs
1x3 275 lbs
1x1 295 lbs
1x1 3xx PR attempt

Re: wod

If you really started 2 days ago I would skip the CFT, read the pdf and learn from it on how the process of doing the CFT happens, the 2 latter propositions are from me, but the first is directly from the pdf:

Quote:
If you don’t have a damn good idea of what you can do for a heavy triple, you don’t need to be doing a CrossFit Total yet.
Perhaps if you have a lifting background I guess s'all good

Read the pdf though everything is said really precisely in it,

Re: wod

Thanks for all the feedback guys. I think that with time and further reading of how the program works I will eventually figure it out. Thanks for being patient.
