2018 CrossFit open dates

Any posts from HQ? Maybe I missed it. Going on a trip end of Feb was just wondering.

FIVE WEEKS - FEB. 22-MARCH 26

18.1- Feb. 22-26

18.2- March 1-5

18.3- March 8-12

18.4- March 15-19

18.5- March 22-26

Registration for the Open begins Thursday, Jan. 11, 2018.

I think I will go a different time. Need to get in shape for the open anyway. HEHE. Just going to have fun with it.. well that is the plan.

Do you think they will fix the scoring this time?

Anyone that does not complete a week of the open should not be ahead of anyone that completes all 5 weeks.

I think this is one of the pitfalls of the leaderboard as how can someone claim to be fitter that someone else if they do not complete all 5 weeks!

I am really hoping they fix the leaderboard so that it relects this because it does make a difference.

If 1 rep RX is worth more that 500 reps scaled then the above rule should also apply. Something i pointed out earlier this year.

I'd say if I only do 4/5 of the WODs vs someone that did all 5 and I STILL rank higher than them overall, I'm without a doubt more fit than they are.

4/5 means you never reached the finish line!

4/5 to means Dnf the open and to me should place after everyone that completed 5/5.

Correct me if I'm wrong but no matter how much of a points advantage one has in the Games, they still need to at least start or complete the minimum work requirement in all the events?
