I've noticed that the days when I eat whole wheat bread or oatmeal for breakfast, my mid day worouts a tad bit sluggish. Whereas the days I stick to fruits I tend to feel more energized. Hmm...

I haven't eaten bread or oatmeal in a while, except for a cheat meal once or twice a week. However, fruits are a savior for providing energized workouts. Grapes are especially good at this, I have found (with Zone meals).

I also find that when I eat a Zone snack before working out, my energy is the best. However, if the last thing I ate was a massive glob of Paleo protein and fat, with a smaller amount of carbs (like IF requires), my energy just isn't there.

I am no nutritionist, but maybe it is because fruit sugars are converted/stored more in the liver for easier (quicker?) access into the bloodstream? Perhaps someone smarter than me may be able to explain how it all works. Although I know my blood sugar feels better in the AM with fruit vs a low GI carb meal.
