2011 Rogue Do-Wins

I have a sizing/fit question for those of you who own the newest model of Rogue's weightlifting shoe. Let me preface this by saying I'm fairly new to weightlifting shoes but comfortably wear a size 10 in the Inov8-195 and 10.5 in a Nike Free.

Today I received my pair of size 10 Do Wins and the first thing I noticed taking them out of the bag was that they looked fairly "longer" than other size 10 shoes I've worn. Putting them on and lacing them normally, my left heel has a slight feeling that it may slip out of the back (I could definitely pull the shoe off my foot without unlacing). Cranking down the laces and straps more or less secures my heel in place, however this result in putting some serious tension on my mid-foot and causing the toe box to "dimple in". Note that the tip of my big toe is about 1" from the beginning of the rubber section at the front of the shoe.

My question is how tight do you wear your shoes and how often do you need to retighten? Also, is the dimpling in the toe box normal or a sign of overtightening? I don't know if I'm simply a vitctim of having irregular sized feet or if I should try and return them for a size 9.5 with the possibility that my toe is mashed in the toe box.

Re: 2011 Rogue Do-Wins

They sound too big.

I had the 2010 do-wins in 10.5 and just sent my 10.5 2011 shoes back for 10s. They are definitely wider and a bit longer, I even put them side by side and the 2011s where about 1/4'' longer.

An o-lifting shoe should be pretty snug. Consider the forces that you feet generate during a split jerk, or even a clean/snatch. You don't want you foot moving around inside the shoe.

Honestly, Rogue is good about exchanges but the $10 in shipping back to them makes me wish these shoes were available locally for sizing purposes.

I found they run big, too. Wish I'd sent mine back for a half size smaller.

This kind of thing happens to me all the time. I find if your questioning it, you have probably bought the wrong size. Return them and in the long run you will be happy you did.

A NEW pair of oly shoes should actually be so tight that it is borderline uncomfortable - this way as you work them in, they will loosen up some but still provide the support required.

So ya, if you're slipping any then they are too big. At least you don't have my problem - one foot is a half size smaller than the other!

They do recommend you go a size down.
I wear a 9.5 or 10 in Nike frees and the size 9 2011 do-wins fit me perfectly.

Re: 2011 Rogue Do-Wins

I have Vibram KSO's in size 40. I have the 2011 Rogue Do-Win's in 9 1/2. I normally wear a US size 9EEEE New Balance cross training shoe. Had to return the size 9 2011 Do-Win's because they were way too tight. The 9 1/2's fit like a dream for me. Hope it helps.
