Classes

So I have been thinking about starting classes at a local martial arts gym for MMA fighters. Although my classes aren't crossfit but are somewhat inspired by it, what would be my chances of getting a small area of the room to do workouts. Of course, I would have to talk to the owner about this arrangement. Anyone have any second opinions on this... Anything would be great. Thanks.

Re: Classes

I'm just horrible for adding to people's workloads, but e-mail Scott Hagnas at Crossfit Portland. His set-up is CF in a martial arts school, so he might have some advice for you.

Re: Classes

Seems to be a pretty common combination.

If I am not mistaken the January 2008 CFJ had an article about pairing an affiliate with a Martial Arts Dojo.

Yes, I just reviewed my January Journal and the article begins on page 27.

Re: Classes

Just to clarify I am not a crossfit trainer. My training style though is inspired somewhat by crossfit. I am getting my cert this may. Should it be best to wait till then? By the way thanks for the advice.

Re: Classes

If you intend to affiliate, review the FAQ's on affiliation. If you aren't going to use the CrossFit name, you shouldn't have any issues.
