Went hiking in the smoky mountains this weekend. Found a trail that was 2 miles out (and 2 miles back) and ascended 1,700 vertical feet.....so I went for....with my wife and 5 year old daughter.

Needless to say much of the climb was too much for her and I carried her on my shoulders for at least 3/4 of the hike. 45lb child on my shoulders and it wasn't a big deal. The next day I felt great.

Prior to Crossfit I wouldn't have had the stamina for this. It felt great!

I had a great time - and (while challenging) the hiking was nothing compared to Cindy, Diane, Linda, or even a 500m row........

I will say - most people on the trail were huffing and puffing and looking at me like I was crazy! (Actually, the looks like I am crazy is the only thing I miss about the commercial gym).
