I'm new to the group and CrossFit. When I am moving and about parallel to ground or below on squat type movements I hear crepitus (grinding series of crunching noises) in my right knee. More on flexion part of exercise but also as I start to come back up. Some mild discomfort associated, but mostly I think the discomfort is fear that something is seriously wrong. Joint does not seem unstable. No problems when running etc.
Is this DJD/osteoarthritis? I'm pretty young (33) but have been on the heavy side 5'11"/210#. Should I modify exercise or limit myself in any way?
