Numb hands
Recently I've been waking up at night a few times having to shake out my hands and wrists from being numb. I've had issues with this in the past (while mowing the lawn, riding my Harley) but it seems to be aggravated. I've never gone to get it checked out. I have been doing more oly lifting and over head stuff which places strain on the wrists. Anyone have similar problems?

Re: Numb hands
sounds like carpal tunnel syndrome as median nerve is getting irritated from tendons around wrist, try wearing a wrist splint to keep wrist neutral at night and see if it helps. when people sleep they sleep with flexed wrist which puts pressure on nerve.

Re: Numb hands
Which fingers are numb? If it's your thumb/index/middle it could be carpal tunnel like Sean mentioned.
I've got the lesser known version, ulnar/cubital tunnel syndrome. My pinky and ring fingers go numb at night, when working on a laptop for a long time, or when on a long horseback ride. I've done hand therapy for it, but what has helped most is accupuncture and massage. I also have a brace to keep my elbow straight at night, but wearing it is a PITA. |

Re: Numb hands
I've experienced this too. Any good chiropractor should be able to relieve this in as little as one session.
