I wanted to post this on the old fat loss/thyroid page, but it's too late.

Here's a great and very in depth article by Ryan Drum on thyroid function and dysfunction: http://www.ryandrum.com/thyroid1.html

And here's instructions for an iodine patch test you can do yourself or have your client do themselves: http://www.wellnesswithin.com/articl...tch%20Test.pdf

I'd read the article first, because it explains things more in depth (including contraindications) and also because IMO seaweeds are preferable to supplements.

FYI, I think I heard on the bord that morning temperature was a more accurate thyroid marker than the iodine test.

Hmmm, well I'm inclined to go with what Mr. Drum wrote (he mentions both in the article) because of his wealth of knowledge and clinical experience... but if you're really worried about it and don't live in NY or CA, you can get your Free T-3s and T-4s tested at http://www.salivatest.com/store/prod_bs.html -- $60 each plus shipping. Most doctors suck and will only test for TSH (which you can also buy for $60 off that site.)
