Re: Mid-Atlantic Hopper Challenge

Hey John,
Judd from Rockville told me he talked to Ryan today. I'm still working on getting the money together, but in the mean time, if you're still short on judges or other volunteers you can count me in as a standby for one of the two events if you don't get anymore people offering to help.

Re: Mid-Atlantic Hopper Challenge

Boy, I wish I could make it for this! I'm working Friday evening at a high school football game, and there's no way I could travel and compete well the next day. Alas, there's always next year!

Best of luck to everyone!

Re: Mid-Atlantic Hopper Challenge

Only ten slots left for competitors!

Things are getting exciting here at CF BWI as we continue to prepare for the 1st Mid-Atlantic Hopper Challenge. Platforms are being built, equipment is being ordered and prizes are being gathered. There are currently just under 70 individuals registered and/or who have expressed interest in participating. The top three affiliates represented so far are CF Alexandria, followed closely by CF Fairfax and CF BWI. If you're from another gym, encourage your friends to sign up and represent your box. Make sure you're getting ready for anything and everything because all things are being thrown into the hopper for the two WODs.

We are still in seek of volunteers for the big day. A big thank you to all who have stepped up so far. We still need Level I folks to help judge. If you know anybody who doesn't want to participate for some crazy reason, but they are Level I, encourage them to come help judge. They will receive a shirt and food/drink throughout the day for FREE!

As always, if you have any questions/comments please don't hesitate to email me.

John

Re: Mid-Atlantic Hopper Challenge

If pull-ups come out of the hopper, will they be normal pull-ups or chest to bar?

Re: Mid-Atlantic Hopper Challenge

For those in need of a hotel...

There are several in the area. Here are a couple of them within about two miles. It's a short drive to these, probably about ten minutes.

1. Holiday Inn
6323 Ritchie Highway
Glen Burnie, MD 21061
877-786-9480

2. Days Inn Glen Burnie
6600 Ritchie Highway
Glen Burnie, MD 21061
410-761-8300

The rates for each of these were about 70-75 dollars per night. There are several others in the area but their rates started at 100+ per night.

Re: Mid-Atlantic Hopper Challenge

Yup, Mike, the excitement is definitely building. There are definitely some fire breathers competing on Saturday. The question is whether or not they can handle whatever comes out of the Hopper. Make sure you bring your coach with you. I forgot to tell her on Sunday that quite a few folks have asked if she's coming.

Re: Mid-Atlantic Hopper Challenge

I just wanted to post and say thanks for having me. BWI did an excellent job hosting in conjunction with the other affiliates that helped out. The event was really great to be a part of and everyone who competed really represented. I look forward to the next Mid Atlantic Hopper Challenge.
