I saw a documentary about this kid as well. The general consensus was that no 8 year-old could gain muscle to that extent without artificial assistance. The human body doesn't start to produce testosterone until puberty, which limits its muscle-building capability. Those of you with kids who crossfit could no doubt back me up on this, I doubt they have packed on huge amounts of muscle.

That article alludes to a burgeoning Hollywood career. The documentary I watched came to the conclusion that, in the best traditions of the "pushy showbiz parent", Pavel Sandrak had been administering testosterone to his son.

Well,

I have no idea but I would like to think that no parent would so something like that to their kids, but then again there are a lot of crazy people out there. So I wonder if there couldn't be another answer some kind of medical condition for example?

Yeah, I don't know what to think about that either.
What I'm trying to figure out though, is that article says Richard Sandrak is the son of a world martial arts champ named Pavel. Would that be Pavel Tsatsouline's son? Is there more than one famous martial arts champ named Pavel?

Donald, I do not think it is Pavel Tsatsouline's son. Pavel practiced some type of karate, but I do not think he was ever into competition. Also, the dates and locations don't really match up with Pavel's locations. And the name of the mother is not the name of Pavel's wife.

As for being muscular, he is more muscular than most other children. However, from the photographs it did appear to me that he had more leanness than muscular size. I've definitely seen young gymnasts sporting some pretty impressive muscles for their age, though not to the extent of Sandrak.

In either case, hopefully he hasn't been doped and doesn't have any long term growth problems.

Thanks Chris
I wasn't sure if Tsatsouline had ever competed. I'd always thought of him as a Russian special forces type dude.
