Re: Nike Metcon

Both the wife and I are as well. I have an email into Rogue Fitness for both myself and her as well. I hope they are decent for running. I for sure do not like running in them.

You see lots of the Nike sponsored athletes doing a lot of running in them. My guess is you will see a lot of them at Regionals this year as well, unless they make everyone wear Reebok then too.

I remember Crossfit Pre-bok and this weekend saw a few folks in Inov-8's. Hardly ever see those anymore. Nanos everywhere.

Yah, went something like Vibram, Inov-8, New Balance, Reebok and now probably Nike. After Nike is LA Gear or British Knights.

I still keep coming back to Nike indoor soccer shoes. Always under $50 and work great.

work safe

The circle really is complete because before Vibram it was Chuck Taylors, and Nike Free.

I for one will be waiting till they put these up on NikeID (don't know if this is planned or not). That's my plan though. I love the looks of these, can't wait.

Re: Nike Metcon

i was at the ECC in Boston today and a bunch of the athletes were wearing their Nike shoes. i have to say, the shoes look great and they really do look like they will be better than the Nano's for heavy barbell movements. Fraser was doing 365lbs clean and jerks with them and they looked as solid as a rock.

Re: Nike Metcon

Anyone know if these will be available in actual stores on the release date? Ever?

Re: Nike Metcon

I have them and love them so far. I've done a little of everything in them and they've handled it all.

Re: Nike Metcon

I'd like to hear how these shoes do with rope climbs. They look to have a design that extends the rubber a little higher in the instep area - exactly the area I notice wear on my Merrills after using them for rope climbs. The friction involved in a rope climb seems like one of the highest wear-and-tear activities for a multi-function shoe, but we don't see this design feature in many other shoes.

I just did a few so I could try and give some opinion (no tall socks so only a few before my legs were raw). They work well for them. I don't do enough rope climbs to really have a big opinion on whether they are better/worse than the Nano (felt similar to me). I will report back but they "look" like they would hold up better for them (like you mention).
