Starting a Military CrossFit Affiliate

Short Summary
We, the athletes of the Stone Bay Fitness Club, are a non-profit organization that meets daily to further our fitness level in preparation for whatever the world throws at us. Our organization has dedicated athletes that put in a lot of their free time and effort to provide a valuable service to the military community.

On 24 May 2013, our organization formerly known as CrossFit Camp Lejeune, lost its CrossFit affiliation when the last Level 1 coach departed for a new assignment. Currently, our club has a group of about 20 dedicated athletes that have remained and routinely meet every morning to help further their fitness level. Since we are a non-profit organization, the services we provide come at the expense of each individual. Those truly dedicated athletes constantly give back to the military community with their time and effort to develop an environment in which military members and their families can improve their fitness.

We believe that providing a service like functional fitness will help military personnel enhance their readiness in preparation for the rigors of combat. Most of our athletes are combat veterans with multiple combat deployments; they understand the fitness requirements. But that is not our only focus; we also help family members attain greater fitness levels for a healthier lifestyle.

What We Need
Our intent is to raise enough funding to send two of our athletes to get their CrossFit Level 1 certification. Upon their certification, we will reapply for our CrossFit affiliation and continue to provide an excellent service, back to the military community, under an official CrossFit organization. Please join in our efforts to regain the CrossFit affiliation which will help everyone achieve success for daily life.

The Impact
Your donations will have a direct impact on the military members and families of the Camp Lejeune area. These donations will ultimately go back to the community in the coaching, clinics, and workouts provided by our organization.
