12 weeks of hard training got me here

Hey guys. I've been a long term member of the boards here and have Crossfitted since 2007. I love the community. You've got me through thick and thin.

I just thought I'd share my results from a 12 week training plan I did at a local gym in Ireland which is fast becoming the stuff of legend. I took a period (3 years) off training because of illness so my before pic is pretty much with no training.

Here are the after pics
Link is WFS http://www.flickr.com/photos/jaimest...7627785581584/

here's a before pic. so you can compare http://www.flemingsteele.com/IMG_1322.jpg - link is WFS

My trainer is qualified RKC level 2 and this is very functional muscle. Not beach weights. We did a ton of metcon and kettlebells.

I'd love to hear your comments.

J

Well done, that's better progress than most see in a year or more.

What'd you diet look like over those 12 weeks compared to before?

Diet has always been clean. Not strict paleo with dairy. Oats, sweet potato and green veg as carb, all protein sources including powder and whole milk, evoo, nuts, eggs. Just cut the crap out. Still had a glass or 2 of wine each night!

Nice work - I looked at the before pic and it was taken April 11th. Obv doesn't mean anything, but these results would be a lot more understandable with 6 months (especially since you were already eating a good diet before you started.) Either way, great work - keep it up!

(and lol @Steve's post.)

Thanks Brian, I didn't take a before pic right before starting because I didn't think I'd end up in such good shape and from the start said I wasn't going to get after photos taken as I thought it was a bit posy! I wish I had but I was exactly the same as the pic when I started training. That pic was from my holiday in April in Lanzarote - it's the only recent one I had with my shirt off. In cold and rainy Ireland we don't get many opportunities to get the shirts off unlike you lucky guys! It was 100% 12 weeks of training - see here http://www.paulmcilroy.com/index.php the 12 week physique prog that I did for similar results which might make it a bit more believable!

I watched the videos. It looks like mostly Bodybuilding stuff, which will definitely get you looking more muscular, but generally isn't great for actual performance. Does he control your diet via the program as well?
